Sophia Sobers

Sophia Sobers is an artist specializing in installations, sound, and site-specific work. She earned her MFA in Digital + Media from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2013 and a BS in Architecture from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in 2011. Sobers's work has been shown nationally, including solo exhibitions in Boston, New York City, and Pittsburgh. She has created temporary public art installations for Cherry Blossoms in Winter in Newark, NJ, the I-195 Redevelopment Commission in Providence, RI, and Alloy Pittsburgh in Swissvale, PA. Sobers has performed both solo and collaborative sound performances at notable venues such as the Knockdown Center, the Rubin Museum, and Wallplay: On Canal. She is a recipient of the Puffin Foundation Grant in 2014 and the City Artist Corps Grant in 2021. Sobers is based in Brooklyn, NY and teaches at Pratt Institute.
