At the core of KinoSaito’s physical space, and its mission, is the theater. A 1500sf vaulted space, the theater is the site of original new works of theater and performance, as well works from Kikuo Saito’s theater oeuvre reimagined by contemporary performance groups. Regular programming includes dance performances, film screenings and concert recitals, along with performances, installations and new media work by artists in residence and visiting artists and companies.

Flutist | Carol Wincenc
Hailed queen of the flute by New York magazine at the outset of her now legendary career. Flutist Carol Wincenc was first prize winner of the Naumburg Solo Flute competition. She has appeared as soloist with such ensembles as the Chicago, San Francisco, Pittsburgh Symphony to name a few. She has performed at countless music festivals around the world. She is a member of the New York Woodwind Quintet and founding member of Les Amis with New York Phil Principals Nancy Allen and violinist Cynthia Phelps. Miss Wincenc continues to teach at the Juilliard School and Stony Brook for over half a century combined.

Pianist | Luc Xu Cheng
Luc is an active soloist and chamber musician based in New York City. Currently Luc is a staff pianist at Juilliard and Mannes School of Music where he works with vocalists and instrumentalists. Highlights of 2024-25 season includes performances at Joyce Theater with the London City ballet featuring choreography and solo piano music. Luc has joined the Creating Resonance Retreat with Carol Wincenc. Luc holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in piano performance from the Juilliard School where he was enrolled in the accelerated BM/M program.

Percussionist | Jeff Kane
Jeff holds his BM in performance from Brooklyn College and studied with the legendary Morris Arnie Lang. He later received his Masters in Teaching from Lehman College. Jeff spent many years in the Broadway pit orchestras performing in numerous productions such as Chorus line, Brigadoon, Grease, 42nd St. He has taught instrumental music since 1999 and retired from teaching in 2019. He currently is active playing in various jazz ensembles in Westchester and Rockland County, NY. Jeff is also active in various world music ensembles. This past summer he joined the Creating Resonance Retreat faculty in Rochester, NY.

Bass | Ean Valte
Ean Valte is a professional freelance musician and artist. Classically trained as a child with a Bachelors in Jazz Performance from the New School of Jazz and Contemporary Music in NYC. Ean’s strengths include composition, musical directing, songwriting and double/electric bass playing. He is extremely versatile and confident in a multitude of genres and styles, having vast experience writing and performing latin, jazz, folk, funk, bluegrass, western classical, neo-soul, and more. These days he’s especially excited and busy with the jazz, near eastern, and progressive rock groups he leads and contributes to. You can feel free to check out his latest single - Gold (feel it all) - which he released with Avangelia on all streaming platforms.
