Brian’s Wieners

An Art Installation | Weenie Roast | Garden Party with artist Lauren Cohen

10am-5pm | Art Installation in the Garden
1pm-4pm | Garden Party with Weenie Roast, Drinks, and Music

For 2024 Upstate Art Weekend, KinoSaito is pleased to present Brian’s Wieners, an interactive booth that showcases ceramic anthropomorphized hot dogs made by artist, Lauren Cohen.

During the height of the pandemic, Brian emerged from Cohen’s psyche as she delved into further explorations of her own traumas and internal family systems. Both the artist and her fictional character, Brian, are constantly searching for love. By dressing in drag, Cohen becomes Brian and produces numerous comedic performances which allow her to explore the most vulnerable parts of herself.

Brian has filled a void through his obsession with processed meats, turning his love of hot dogs into a replacement for the real thing.

Maiko Kikuchi

$20 | Member discounts | RSVP required

Maiko Kikuchi’s performance unfolds in six captivating vignettes, where she, adorned in a business suit and glasses, brings to life surrealistic worlds inspired by nonsensical diary-like narrations. Using props and ordinary materials, she transforms the neutral white space into an immersive installation of visible daydreams, inviting viewers to ponder the delicate boundary between reality and dreams.
